Do you have excellent attention to detail and a knack for creating a relaxing and enjoyable experience for clients? Rooted Salons is seeking a skilled an enthusiastic Commission Stylist to join our dynamic team. As a Commission Stylist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring clients with natural hair receive a revitalizing and satisfying salon experience.

Responsibilities:

• Client Consultations: Conduct thorough consultations with clients to understand their hair needs, preferences, and any specific concerns related to their natural hair.
• Hair Care and Styling: Provide professional hair care services such as washing, conditioning, cutting, and styling natural hair, including braiding, twisting, and other protective styles.
• Product Knowledge: Recommend and use appropriate products for clients’ hair types and textures, ensuring that products are safe and effective for natural hair.
• Maintain a Clean Workstation: Keep your station, tools, and equipment clean and organized, adhering to health and safety regulations to ensure a hygienic environment for clients.
• Build and Maintain Client Relationships: Develop strong relationships with clients by offering personalized service, following up on their hair care needs, and addressing any issues or concerns they might have.
• Stay Updated with Trends: Keep up with the latest trends, techniques, and products in natural hair care and styling to offer clients the best and most current services.
• Qualifications:
• Licensed Cosmetologist: Hold a valid cosmetology license or certification as required by state regulations, demonstrating formal training and expertise in hair care.
• Experience with Natural Hair: Have experience and/or specialized training in styling and treating natural hair textures, including curly, coily, and kinky hair.
• Strong Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, understand their needs, and explain hair care techniques and recommendations.
• Technical Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in various hair styling techniques, including cutting, coloring, and texturizing, specifically tailored for natural hair.
• Customer Service Skills: Exhibit strong customer service skills to ensure a positive client experience, manage client expectations, and handle any issues professionally.
• Attention to Detail: Show meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of service, from the application of products to the execution of styling techniques, to ensure high-quality results.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $600.00 – $1,400.00 per week depending on availability

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
