Pressed Roots is the first silk blow-out bar specializing in textured hair. Combining certified textured hair expertise, nurturing care for hair health and true luxury hospitality touches, we aim to break down the barriers that have held women of color back from feeling their best. At Pressed Roots, our salon apprentices play a vital role in providing our clients with a luxury experience. We seek out talented, texture-loving cosmetology students who exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit and have a desire to learn about the beauty of textured hair. We provide the training, tools, and support they need to be their best. Because at Pressed Roots, it’s the growth for us.
Salon apprentices are paired with our experienced leaders and will have hands-on mentorship and guidance throughout the duration of the program. Pressed Roots’ open floor plan allows salon apprentices to consistently gain exposure to the daily tasks and methods of our stylists.

Responsibilities
Take care of all types of textured hair care by performing the shampoo, condition, and other pre-blowout services
Maintain salon cleanliness – sweeping, inventory, cleaning brushes, washing and folding towels, etc
Ensure comfortability of clients while at the shampoo bowl
Sell add-on services, retail products, and our VIP memberships
Provide a luxury, customer experience through client interactions – we also serve mimosas and other beverages!
Qualifications
A current or recent cosmetology student looking to learn about the beauty and care of textured hair
Excellent customer service and communication skills
A strong work ethic with a “go-getter” attitude
